Impreza WRX Key coding
Discussion
Ive a UK 51 plate WRX with only 1 key. Ive phoned the nearest Subaru dealer in Middlesborough, but they were no use and never even rang back.
Does anyone know how much it is to get another key, and code it to the car?
Does it have to be Subaru? or is there any Indys that can do it?
It operates the central locking, thing is my 1 and only key is playing up now so I want to sort it.

Thanks

If you get another key, the dealer will probably want to program it in for you but it will not be cheap! Is it a sigma m30 alarm? If so I have a programming manual in pdf form which could be mailed if need be. Having read it, it seems fairly straight forward - I used it to change a couple of things on my '02.

I have no alarm key fob, only the standard Subaru key with the open/ close buttons on.
I think it has an alarm, I have the documents and pass codes and there is a key pad in an ash tray thing to the right of the steering wheel, but It doesnt do anything so I think its disconnected, which doesnt bother me. I just want the central locking to work like it used too.

The keypad is the standard Brant immobiliser, you have to enter a pin number every time you want to start the car. Has a couple of other features like anti-hijack and an alarm.
Some people have no end of problems with it or get pissed off with entering the code so disconnect it and fit an aftermarket system, if you only have the standard Subaru key and the keypad does nothing it sounds like you dont have any alarm or immobiliser protection?!
