Hi all, i'm 6foot3 and erm, chunky, i cant fit in an mx5, i cant fit in an FD rx7, i can fit in all 200sx's (might struggle with a helmet) and my head just touches the roof in my E36 3 series coupe (sunroof eqipped).

So, what are the chances of me fitting in a FC rx7 comfortably? What are they like for (helmet ideally) headroom, kneeroom and will the seat go back plenty, are they like mx5's where you struggle to gain headroom etc with a bucket? Thanks

Also, i hear theyre awesome to drive (in a nearly as nice as an mx5 style), what are people opinions (dont care what you think about the engine, unless its good!)

Thanks everyone

I would consider asking on an American forum - not only do they have more big guys, they have higher expectations for comfort.

I drove one a few weeks back, they are pretty damn tight.

I'm 5'10, 12st and pretty narrow, I found that theres very little leg room width wise. Less than my MR2 which really surprised me.

Also the steering wheel was not adjustable height wise which surprised me, not sure if thats the same for all models or just the specific one I drove.

edit: sorry ignore me, thought you said FD, not FC. I drove an FD.

In answer to your first question. Probably but it might be uncomfortable.

Right having said that I've spent plenty of time in both types of RX-7's and at just over 6 foot I've had no issues nor problems fitting. Although I'm not slim I'm not wide either! After a bit of messing around with seating positions I found something that works even on long trips.

Another suggestion for you would be to possibly consider a Cosmo?

There a great little car.. Quite underrated in this part of the world anyway! You either get the Rotor thing or you don't? It's really that simple..

hmmmmm its gonna be a tight one!

They seem to be a bit of a Tardis in reverse. If you want to get in with a helmet, then I would say it is going to be on the roof! There are people that are your height getting in FDs and pushing the seat right back.

There are plenty around for sale...so why not take a helmet along and see whether you can get in and out.
