Hi everyone

If i wanted to buy a 350z say around 2003/4 , could anyone confrm exactly which models were rated as PLG on their tax band and therefore are cheaper to tax ?. I've heard certain models do qualify for the lower taxband but not sure which ones, any ideas ?
thanks

The only 350Zs classed as PLG will be the earlier grey imports.

Any UK 350Z registered before 23-March-2006 will be band K, currently £215, but this goes up to £245 from 01-April-2010. Any registered after that date will be band M, currently £405 and going up to £435 from April next year.

Also worth noting for the imports it is when the car was registered in the UK which denotes its tax band and not when the car was manufactured. i.e. a 2003 built JDM imported in 2007 will have the higher £400+ tax band.
There does seem to be a few exceptions to the rules and some imports have been wrongly classified...

Get yourself a 55 plate one or earlier.

If it's JDM, make sure it's registered in the UK when it was actually made, not imported.

To be honest, if it's the right car, buy it regardless of tax. The car will be anything from £8,000, so to not buy the right car because of £400 road tax a year is a bit silly.

Just get one bought.
