Front tyres for GTR
Discussion
Hi All,
Just back from its 6K service and I have to agree with the dealer that the shoulders are wearing fast on the fronts.
I'm not sure I believe the Dealer's story about the "special equipment" required to fit them.
SO...who knows a specialist who is competent and experienced?
Thanks in advance

Are they wearing on the inside or the outside of the tyres?
Any tyre place should be able to help you out. Camskill sell the tyres pretty cheap compared to the dealers. The only problem you'll have is finding a tyre centre that can inflate Nitrogen.
Kwik Fit all have Nitrogen facilities, but you would need to find a good one you trust really.

Don't know. Paid £3,000 up front for 3 years servicing....so that averages £500/service.
Awesome car. Not as satisfying to drive as the Noble but quicker in almost all on road situations..
What do you drive today?

I drive just about everything ever created cos I'm a total car nut but my daily is a GT500 Supersnake with over 600 horses but the car is so damn hard I can't wait to get out of it. I'm all for firm cars but this thing crashes and bangs over cats eyes.Awesome car. Not as satisfying to drive as the Noble but quicker in almost all on road situations..

I have a Demo loan car for the day on Monday and I'm very much looking forward to it.
I'm slightly embarassed asking about service cost and I now want to know the MPG. These questions have never been on my mind before but I think I'm getting old.
Agree with Laurence, I bought 4 Bridgestones from Camskill for £1117 delivered and VATed which is not bad at all.
However if you're going to just replace the fronts, then the Dunlops are more.
Mine were worn on the outside shoulders after a few track days and I wanted to try the Bridgestones. They are marginally more progressive and confidence-inspiring in the wet.
I did get Middlehurst to fit them as it was due a service too.
Any place that can cope with wide 20" wheels with a painted finish should be able to do it, but once marked they are tricky to colour match...
BTW, Middlehurst charge £210 inc VAT for a 6k service, so pretty cheap, dunno about the 12k one.
A variety of owners reports to read (including mine) here: http://www.auto-journals.com/journals/Nissan?model...
