Would you belive i parked my scoob outside my house briefly everybody else managed to negotiate the ice outside my house without a problem then.................you guessed it one of the neighbours hit the ice and whamo straight into the rear wing and bumper 'w**Ker'was my first few words, his were 'i wasn't going too fast'!!yeah right we did exchange a few choice words after too.
I took all the details etc then on wednesday went to the repairers for an estimate which is where it went downhill £1200 for the repair depending if it passes the Geo check on the rear suspension as the wheel was clouted too,the trouble is its a classic import scoob and according too the chap who assesed it they ain't worth as much.....so at the moment i'm feeling very pissed offfrown

Just got to wait for the date for the geo check if it gets that farfrown

Scoobs are pretty damn strong. Don't be surprised if it passes the geometry check. In any case it's not your fault, so whatever it costs to fix it's not coming out of your pocket or your insurers pocket.
Good luck!! thumbup

Give the PH'er Anniesdad a.k.a Steve Greensmith a shout, or search for europa consultants. Great rep on here, and has helped many a PHer with this kind of thing.

Best of luck getting it sorted, awful thing to happen just before christmas but at least it won't be coming out of your pocket.

Hi,

If the insurance company write the car off and offer you a low ammount, don't accept it. Just get plenty of examples of what a similar car would cost to buy and fight your corner. Worked with me although that was a lowley Rover Coupe.

insurers work on the assumption that you need the money, so will waste your time until you accept their crappy offer. Hold your ground and you can win.

Yes it is although i'm tempted to buy it back if the do write it off unless of course the rear suspension is bent!
