hi haveing problems with my toyota altezza (beams engine) 1999 2.0 3s-ge non turbo import . i left the car in storage over winter and the battery has gone flat so i used a jump start pack to fire it up but the engine will only idle at 500rpm very lumpy and ruff for about 30secs before cutting out if you re start it with some trottle and some good revs the mangement light comes on and then revs at 2000rpm and stays there. can anyone help please

Give the Idle control valve a tap with a hammer, its on the side of the intake. it's most probably stuck in one position.

ok do you mean the trottle postion sensor on the left hand side of the trottle body. also could it be because the ecu has lost its memory due to power loss ?

No its an air valve that controls the idle speed, it's probably a round thing with a large square plug on it, it'll have an air hose going to the air filter area & the valve itself is mounted on the intake manifold after the throttle body.

Though It might be different on your engine - I'm thinking generic Toyota
