350Z - opinions please!

What do you think?
Have been bid £6k for my Impreza ('54 plate WRX SL with 57k on the clock), which hurts a bit, but haven't started talking about price yet.

Nearly a year now for ownership and haven't looked back. Completely love the car.
Not sure about the orange with the black but thats down to personal taste..
Make sure you budget for tyres though, rears lasted about 8k, fronts 9k.
And put a few quid away for fuel.. I get about 20mpg most journeys unless I do a long run, had upto 27mpg.
Plenty of comfort on a long run or on a commute to work.
Power is pretty effortless combined with a strong torque curve...
Very enjoyable car to drive, turns in and handles well for a big car.. brakes could be a tad stronger..
Overall apart from what I mentioned above, a very entertaining car..

Had mine three years and no problems other than a clunk from the suspension that the dealer can't find the cause of and the alloys are starting to corrode (at 5 years old).
Servicing cheap (£150 - 300), averaging 24 mpg, getting 12-14K from tyres.
Tonneau cover between load spaces cuts noise £98, rear parking sensors useful.

The car in question looks nice and not a bad price considering its from Nissan.
You might get a bit newer/lower mileage for your money if you shop around a bit or prepared to buy private.
That colour interior is actually much better in the flesh. Looks horrendous in photos but the 350z is pretty dark inside and that colour livens things up a bit inside. I was suprised by how much I liked it when I looked at one.
The engine/ECU in the Zed is not the easiest to tune apparently, but new exhaust, filter, plenum spacer apparently do make a difference and make it sound better. Don't expect massive bhp increases though without going down the turbo/supercharger route.
They are fantastic cars, not quite as pratical as their bulk would imply due to the strut brace in the boot, but still a lot better than some. Fantastic at munching away motorway miles or a b-road blast, although its bulk is evident if pushing on really hard.
i average about 25mpg combined driving, over 30 mpg if you are really steady on the motorway but less than 20 in stop start traffic.

If you want something a bit more practical, how about a Skyline 350GT? Same engine, same chassis, but a 2+2, and a decent boot. The looks are certainly very odd, but good fun indeedy.

Thanks Dan, I took it out for a test yesterday - I actually like the interior.
I've found another model with fewer miles at less money, but that's with a trader who's probably going to bid me in the goolies for my Impreza! Still, I'm going to put my haggling abilities to the test!

great car. miss mine. wonderful engine and the handling is excellent. used mine for a long commute and was perfect, getting 27-28mpg average. Its more of a GT than a sports car but is more than capable on a b-road blast.
Get over to 350zuk forum for more info, they are a great bunch.

I just sold my 06 facelift a few weeks back for an impreza wr1.
It was a black gt roadster and can honestly say it was the nicest car I've owned to date.
Ticked all my boxes and was a bit more exclusive and subtle yet generally quicker and rarer than a boxster.
I'm thinking about buying another to be honest I miss it that much,
as said, they do guzzle fuel In around town, but I'm sure your used to that with the impreza!

Looks like a reasonable price to me. I paid £16k for one very similar about 18 months ago (although it also had GT pack, sat nav and parking sensors). As previously said, you could find cheaper if you went private but it's nice to have piece of mind that comes with a main dealer. Make sure that it's had the spark plugs changed as they are due after 5 years or 56k miles and cost the best part of £200.
I've averaged about 26 mpg from mixed driving and the rear tyres (which were new when I bought it) are just about done after roughly 12k miles. Maintenance is reasonable (I paid about £700 for a three year service package - including plugs) and I've had no problems apart from a skipping CD player which is apparently a common fault on the Bose multichanger.

Took SWMBO to have a look today for approval before deciding. Turned up, had a quick look at the car in the car park (the boss liked it), went into the office to find that the guy I had arranged to see was out (even though I'd apprived exactly when I said I would) and that the car had been sold.
