Hi chaps, well after years of talking about it, I've finally sold the TVR and got myself an R33 GTR. Just picked it up today, and bloody hell it's fast! It just keeps pulling and pulling! The chap I bought it from hasn't had it dyno'd for a while but reckons it should be around the 400bhp mark.

It's one of the Middlehurst 100 UK spec cars, it has the Connoly's leather seats, an R34 engine that was destined orignally for a Skyline Falken endurance Nurburg car, not hugely different from a standard engine but different pistons & cam, ported and polished, balanced crankshaft and so on. Currently running on standard R33 turbos, for reliability's sake though, I may upgrade them to all steel internal ones in the future.

The previous owner was a real enthusiast, and also works for Nissan R&D, so knows his stuff, in fact he's in the process of setting up a garage to work on these motors with a mate of his, so I know where to get it serviced!

Here is the original advert

And here's a picture or two for you all....

Looking forward to the world of Skyline ownership!! biggrin

Dammit man, I've just persuaded myself (after about 12 years lusting after the old man's Middlehurst R33) that I didn't need one.

Dan, you're and arse. With impeccable taste. But an arse nonetheless hehe

You're a b@stard and I hate you!biggrin

You could squeeze A LOT more power out of that built RB26 if you want, but ~300 KWs is still a decent amount for street driving and the stock turbos are very responsive.

Wouldn't mind getting my grubby hands on a re-built 32 GTR at some point in the future. Nothing sounds as good as an RB on full tap.

Baggsie first dibbs on that one. I'd be interested to hear what your running costs are on that but if you keep in touch with the last owner I guess they'll be pretty good redface)

Best car I've seen in years and is a steal.

Congrats smile

V nice - IanC's old car.

Get yourself some Garrett -7 or -5 turbos, Nistune or an aftermarket engine management, some bigger injector and an upgraded fuel pump and you'll be around 500bhp! Noice!

Cheers,

Oops, just read the original ad, got loads of bits already, just need the steel turbos and your good to go!

One of the nicest R33s out there.

Cheers,

Awesome car, would love to here just how much it’s costing to run in a few months, reliability, and how much it has cost you to tune up and mod etc. Fancy a GTR in the future, one of the only cars that have simply blown my mind away with its performance. yikes

Do all the mod’s to make a 400bhp GTR increase your insurance premium by much?

Hope all goes well

Exactly the sort of R33 I'd want to get.
