Toyota Celica T Sport 190
Discussion
Hi,
Just a bit about myself,
I am one of these people who is a bit of a car slag and is constantly on the lookout for my next car, whether i'm getting it tomorrow or in a years time i am always looking.
I was in a mates Corolla T sport 190bhp the other day and thought to myself, i like this engine ect ect... and after a little looking in found that the 7th gen celica has the same engine, and its coupe!
and IMO think it looks fantastic and by no way in your face.
Just wondering if anyone here has one and the usual running costs with it and how it is to live with day to day... did realize that the corolla wasnt the best for fuel economy...
oh yeah, and is it good value for money especially for a 21 year old who will be forking out bout £700-800 on insurance...

The 190 is a great car, if you keep it under 6,200rpm it's basically like a Celica 140, but above 6,200 it's like a different car.
Plenty of boot space, the interior is decent enough and the seats are reasonably comfortable. The backseats could be bigger but unless you've got to regularly transport four adults that shouldn't be a problem. Adults will fit in the back, but doing it regularly is likely to annoy your backseat passengers.
Fuel economy is pretty good, I regularly got 30mpg out of mine and more is possible if you haven't got a lead foot.
Servicing should be relatively cheap and they're pretty damn reliable - get yourself a facelift version (small slit in the front with the Toyota logo on the bumper, rather than a small grille with the Toyota logo on the grille) and that'll mean the lift bolts are fixed for stronger ones.

Thanks for the advise, it all sounds great. will probably be looking to get a new car in October once i hit 21 and insurance comes down a bit. but i'm not ruling out other possibilities, would like a coupe preferably and probably front wheel drive so i wont really get stuck in snow
unlike my bros rx8...
i probably have a full car inc 1 adult and 1 child in the back once or twice a week... so it should be ok... i mean they're alright with my tiny little hatchback anyways so...
oh and i've got a smooth right foot
trained well
as students do, but i do like to put my foot down now and then... so usually its start of the month when funds are a bit higher i can afford to put my foot down but end of the month when funds are low i'm gentle
