Code 23 is your MAF sensor. Change the MAF sensor and reset the ECU.

To reset the ECU:

Under the dash connect the green m/f test mode connectors together and the black m/f read connectors together. Put your foot on the accelerator pedal and turn the ignition on. Keep you foot on that pedal for 10secs then lift your foot off the pedal and start the car. Immediately drive off keeping a steady eddy speed above 6mph for two mins. During that time if the ECU has reset and there are no other error codes you will see the check engine light blink steadily without pauses. Once you get the steady blinks and there are definately no pauses pull over, switch the engine off and undo the test and read connectors.

Drive around as normal and in short time full base timing will kick in when your IAM (Ignition Advance Multiplier) hits 16 and the ECU invokes 16 16ths of your base timing table (Ignition learning process). You won't know when this happens as you don't have a laptop and cables/software to plug in and show you what's what but when it all kicks in the car should feel it's rapid self again.

Hope this helps. thumbup

22 is the knock sensor...are you sure you're counting the pulses correctly?? If so you'll have to change the knock sensor. The problem with classic impreza's of the v1-v2 variety is that they are getting pretty old now and will require bits replacing.

If the sensors that are throwing up error codes are the originals then it's highly likely they are malfunctioning purely due to age rather than mileage as it's not always mileage that is the culprit.
