Impreza Insurance
Discussion
I'm 31, just got a stock Ver 5 Sti Wagon.
Clean license and record but no UK non-claims.
Was living in Australa for the last couple of years and have been all over the place last 7 years or so. Never owned a car in the UK before.
Had a license since 2000.
Best I have got so far is £2,700!
That is with 1 years no claims from Australia which they took into account.
Had a modified Skyline in Australia insured for the equivilant of ~£700.
Kind of blown away by the cost here in the UK.

That's way over the top. Mine costs £420. Admittedly I have a bucketload of NCB in use, but it's significantly modified (see my profile for the details) and I'm the same age.
Allowing for the NCB, I can't see why it isn't £1500 or less.
I got quotes in excess of £3,000!Allowing for the NCB, I can't see why it isn't £1500 or less.

What is working against me is lack of NCB and the Impreza is new to me. The £2,700 quote is with some reduction for having owned a skyline.
Apparently there is a very high chance of one writing off an Impreza in the first year of ownership.
£2700!
I'm 19 and I pay only £100 more than that on my Impreza... then again I'm third party only.
Did you try Flux? There's another bloke who does decent Impreza insurance - I forget his name (and the company) but I'm sure someone on here would know.
Can you add your parents? I know it's a bit silly but it did help cut my insurance from £4500 to £2800.

Going 3rd party makes hardly any difference.

Yes it was with Flux.
Mum can't drive, my Dad's has not renewed his licence since he turned 70 last year.

I'm 50, have 4yr NCB in Oz for a Land Cruiser, a 9yr NCB in UK for a Caterham, and & just bought a new Impreza WRX.
Insurance through MoreThan = £456 as we were in Oz and returned 9 months ago with 1 yr NCB on our Volvo estate.
You need to visit the ferret, or whatever comparethemarket.co.uk is....!
