Hey chaps.

Just a bit concerned about my Impreza. It's due for a service every 10,000 miles - the last service was in August 2009 at 40,000 miles. I changed the oil and filter at 46,000 miles and it's due for its next overhaul at 50,000 (including the cam belt). I only realised this yesterday, and the car will be ticking over 52,000 by the time I get it serviced. Is this a major worry or wll 2000 miles on a Scooby be pretty insignificant? The 50k service includes a cam belt change.

Ta.

im sure the cambelt has some margin of error in it, so you'll be fine. It wont go pop on 50,001 miles smile

Either that or get the belt done on schedule then do the oil change when its due, split the cost!
We do this a lot for people keeps the service cost down or so it seeems when you dont pay it all out at once

Is there a need to change all the pulleys too[when doing the cam belt] being fairly new although i've learned a lot thats something i've not come across before when a mate mentioned it any idea what the cost of the change would be??

7 times out of 10 it is just belts but we always always check the tensioner and idlers and if they show any signs of wear advise they have new GENUINE only parts.
We charge £150 plusvat to supply and fit belt
Tensioners are about £80/90 depends on year
Idlers are various prices £75 average

You would be unlucky to need tensioners and idlers and water pump etc.

Hope that helps
