I'm shopping for one of these at the moment and have found a fresh import not yet in the country, it's a 2000 model, 81k miles and grade 3.5.
Now the mileage does concern me slightly purely because most imports have considerably less miles, should it concern me?
Also I'm not to familiar with the grading system, can anyone shed some light on this for me, what kind of condition can I expect to find the car in.

Grading goes from 1 to 5 with 5 being show room fresh and 1 being in need of restoration. A 3.5 car I would expect there to be some small paint work damage and stone chips on the leading edges but nothing that can't be fixed with a bit of elbow grease.

As for the miles I wouldn't be too worried since Honda didn't get a reputation for reliability for nothing. If you were to purchase it then when it arrives I would go over everything closely and give it a full service. That is the risk of importing a car is that you can only go by what your agent is telling you with little come back.

Have they specified if the millage is in KM or Miles??? 81K KMs only really equal about 50K miles... Still a low millage car for year!

Thanks for that, I can put a deposit down and if I'm not happy when I view it is refundable.

Well completely up to you, I've heard of Honda engines going up towards 200K no bother before.

The japanese really do look after there cars, so i'll be surprised if there is anything to really fault on it...

Keep it well services when you get your hands on it and it will last for years to come!

Yeah I'm just a bit wary of imports
Did have an EP3, would still have it if some scrote hadn't nicked it.

My DC2 is about to clock 150k miles. Only major expense has been a new gearbox about 60k miles ago. The engine has never had its head off and still pulls like a train whilst returning 30+ mpg. Utterly, utterly brilliant car.

My DC5 was stolen about a year ago so I know how you feel.

And as if having your car stolen wasn't bad enough you then get screwed by your insurance company, my quotes have nearly doubled since last year because I have a theft on my record.

If it is from Torque then it will be fine as they are decent chaps.

Looks good. Make sure they replace the gear knob though! And with a proper titanium one.
