Bug Eye Impreza Air Con

The A/C on my Impreza has suddenly stopped working. Nice timing.

The LED on the switch comes on but the compressor pulley does not engage the clutch.

I have checked the fuse in the dash and there is power across the relay terminals in the engine bay so my next suspicion is the low pressure switch but I cannot find it.

Any ideas?

Compressor may have given up!! May need a new one and a Air-Con Regas

Have a look down the right hand side of the aircon radiator and you'll see two wires leading to a connector that plugs on to the switch.

If you think it's the compressor shout as i have one here you can try. I'm only in Northants so not a million miles away and doesn't take long to swap.

The tested the low pressure switch and it is causing the shut down so it is just a simple re-gas thankfully.

Great to hear it's a cheap fix. £50 should sort out a re-gas. Nice one
