ST202 Turn off Passenger Airbag

Hi all,

Does anyone know if it is possible to turn off the Passenger side airbag on a ST202, If it is just disconnected will the Drivers airbag still work ? will the Dash airbag light stay on, Or is there an "official" way to do this.

Needed to fit a baby seat in the font.

There is definitely a way to do it without disabling the driver's, Mr E and I can't remember if there was a key slot inside the passenger door for this (he had an ST205, I had the AT200), it is either a fuse (although having just looked at fuses there's only one for all) or get a garage to do it.

There is a handy guide on how to remove the passenger air bag completely on CCUK, but that's a tad excessive...

As Bint says, there's a lot of useful info on the Celica-Club UK forum site.

Just be aware though, if doing any work with the airbags, disconnect the battery and wait for at least 10 mins before doing any work around them.
They are full of explosive bits and will cause you damage if you are working next to them and they go off.
