Legnum VR4 you mean? Yeah, they're pretty nippy. Never driven a manual but tiptronic auto's are quite brutal in their acceleration up to 90/100 then it becomes a steady surge thereafter. The auto's usually drop two gears with full kickdown, a loud roar and then you're spat off into the distance. 4wd with a fancy diff means they don't have traction issues and have lotrs of grip in the corners.

Pre-facelift auto's have 260bhp, post-facelift auto's have 280bhp. All spanish gearbox equipped cars have 280bhp. I can't tell the difference in performance from any of them though.

ETA; they're pricey to modify, £2500ish will get you Evo Brembo brakes (on a post-facelift), suspension and about 330bhp. You'll need deep pockets for further power developments though.

Generally good cars. Fuel's a bit hard if you're doing alot of miles, but probably no worse than pushing on in a Scooby.

Other downside is servicing every 4500 of engine oil and AYC fluids, most independants or any decent garage can easily handle it cheaply though.. Standard brakes, like most jap imports, aren't great.

Otherwise Legnums are comfy, able and deceptively quick cars. Nice and Roomy too if you need amore space, comparable with an A6 Avant.

The motor oil changes i'll more than likely do myself although not sure about AYC tho,as for the fuel my scoob is around 300 brake so yes its just as thirsty i just need the extra room but with the performance can't do without that once you've driven a performance car going back to the run of the mill ain't gonna happen lol

AYC is possible DIY, just awkward and the filler is up under the rear subframe like an Evo, so need a squirty suction gun filler, no worse than a gearbox I guess.
