I'm likely to be changing my car come january; the Porsche 944 is nice, and goes ok, but I want something faster and that will fit a child seat in the back for my 18 month old daughter. I'm fond of Japanese cars.
I'm umm-ing and ahh-ing about my choices. I very much fancy an RX-8, but am a little put off by the fuel consumption (I'll need to commute in it) and the supposed foibles of the rotary (prone to flooding if not run for a few mins, coil packs causing compression issues, etc). A Mazda 6 MPS might fit the bill, but they look a bit old man. I don't want an impreza, cos that's what my wife has. I'm scared of the running costs of an Evo. I don't want to run the risk of a modified money pit, so a bit wary of the earlier skylines. But the 350GT sounds like it'll fit the bill (I prefer the look of the coupe). Does anyone know what they are like? How pricey are the services? What's the tiptronic gear box like? How do they sound? (I'm a sucker for a nice sounding car).
I'm likely to be spending between £5k and £10k, and am open to suggestions.
