Yes just to log the ECU and do resets, sorry for the confusion.

Something like an ELM321 or 327 based cable will let you log all OBDII parameters, do resets, etc..., on newage Subaru, using all sorts of different software that is compatible with ELM cables.

Was very happy with the service from them (UK based too which I prefer should anything go wrong etc).

I can reset the ECU and log using ECUExplorer (not tried ROMRaider or anything else yet) using a netbook with Windows XP, on a 2005 2.0 PPP WRX 'blobeye'.
