Can anyone tell me whether it's possible to turn off the airbag on a nissan 350z? Cheers.

I'm assuming you want to disable the airbag so that you can have a child in a safety seat beside you? If so, then I would imagine that a 350Z is a lot safer in a crash that a 300ZX, since the 300 was designed in the early eighties.

My 350Z was cheap to run (apart from fuel). It was an excellent GT, fast, comfortable, handled well (good steering, brakes, suspension control). Its quite a heavy car to drive (steering, gear change) compared to other Japanese cars but I liked that. I would have another.

I looked at a 300ZX years ago and seem to remember potential large bills for turbo and cam chain. I may be wrong about that though. They are also pretty rare and the youngest must be 10 years old now.

Although the 350 is the immediate next generation Z following the 300 they are light years apart. The 350 is current technology, the 300 is late 80s. Finding a good 350 is easy, finding a good 300 can be a challenge especially if you want something original.

The youngest 300 you`ll find is 15 years old and they all have the potential for big bills. The VG30DE engine was AFAIK the last petrol engine Nissan fitted with a cambelt which needs changing every 60K along with possibly tensioner, idlers, water pump, cam seals etc. The twin turbos obviously need regular oil changes and sympathetic treatment. The car is jam packed with all sorts of electronic gizmos ~ HICAS 4 wheel steering, ABS, climate control etc. The targa roof set up can leak and then there is rust to worry about. The high underbonnet temperatures can cause issues with the aging wiring connectors to the injectors, AFM, coil packs etc.

It took me ages to find my 300 and in the end I went for a Jap import (no rust), low miles,no turbos and none of the stuff listed above. Even then I`ve had a few issues and I`ve got a big advantage via my workplace. Having said all that, on song it`s a great car and they are very cheap now. A 350 on the other hand suffers from ~ well, not a lot really and there are gazillions for sale. As a daily driver it`s a no~brainer IMO. Mrs H67 once made some noises about using our 300 as her daily but was told to be quiet! laugh
