Over the last few days I couldn't resist the odd drift in the snow. I have to say my Impreza is absolutely faultless in these conditions. And I've passed many front/rear drive cars who can't even get up the slightest incline laugh

Anyone else enjoying their car at the moment? driving

Bit of a strange first post but my GT4 has been excellent in the snow! Coming from a MR2 mind...Getting up a multistory carpark the other day whilst others who had tried and failed watched in bewilderment was amusing :-)

Although the ABS couldnt save me whilst heading down a slope into a curb; my poor sppedlines :-(

My EVO has been terrible in the snow. It just wanted to kill you at every opportunity. It's turned from a beautifully balanced B road weapon into a snap over-steer death machine. Tyres maketh the car.

Swapped to Falken winters and it's a night and day improvement.

ABS is often crap in the snow - the best way to use it is (a)use engine braking instead where possible and (b)if you have to brake, do it so gently that ABS doesn't activate.

I've had cars accelerate downhill the instant ABS triggered, its not fun!

I've got a Subaru SVX which copes so well in the snow so far I've not been caught out with it but you do have to drive with a bit of care due to high speed road tyres.

ABS on GT4's is really sensitive. I just brake gently use gears & mines fine & even on parada's mine has been spot on in the snow even progressive steps out no sudden attempts to kill me on the snow/ice!

I love it. The snowy drifting really is fun and i`m certainly getting better and better at it. I (rightly or wrongly) felt so smug overtaking a queue of traffic that could not make it up an icy incline the day the snow started here.

We only have a 1.5 Impreza (new hatch version) but it is great in the snow smile 2 weeks ago during the heavier snow over Hants, we were able to traverse the back countrylanes with 5" of snow when other vehicles were having a game trying to move on the flat..... and this was all on Bridgestone B250 budget tyres biggrin

In answer to the OP. Yes. Lots of fun, massive of drifts and I have the keys to a huge car park for work so that had been hellish. wink

Oh, completely agree with the need for the ability to brake properly. Caused some starfish tightening moments coming towards junctions.
