Second hand Jap car parts

Hi everyone,

I am trying to track down a new (second hand or new) turbo for my Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato but due to the rarity of the car it's proving to be pretty much impossible.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a decent and reputable company that are able to source parts from Japan or Malaysia. I have had contact with a few people from Malaysia offering parts but they have proven to be unreliable when trying to sort a deal. Arguably, the language barrier could have something to do with this.

I have tried using translators etc with Yahoo Auctions Japan but the translations do not really make much sense. There are a lot of places that come up with a google search so I thought I would ask if there is a general 'preferred' company so to speak?

I have also used the PH search to see if this has been brought up before but there was nothing of any use so I apologise if I may have missed it.

Is it not worth you just getting yours rebuilt mate? Surely someone can just put yours back together with new seals and it would save you a lot of hassle?

Well the turbo is an IHI RHF3 VQ29, I think. From talking to other Avanzato owners, who have had the same problem before, rebuild companies cant get the parts/rebuild kits to do it. My other option is to build a hyrbid with a Vauxhall Corsa 'b' turbo but id rather stay original if I can.

Thanks for the link. I will have a good look at the site when im not on my phone. The 50000 yen is about what ive found so far which is quite a lot but its still about 1/5 of a dealer price!! For reference its an L512S chassis with the jb-jl engine.
