Buying evo 8 330fq
Discussion
Hi guys
Am think of buying and evo 8 fq 330
The car has only 37000 miles and over 400 bhp
My question is with all this power what are the common problems and areas I need to check to make sure everything is in check
Plus is 4 previous keepers a issue with the low miles
Thanks for the advice in advance

On an VIII FQ-330 with 400 bhp I would check the following:
- Clutch, is it oem or uprated (check both for slippage)
- Cambelt, should have been replaced after 5 years (2008/9)
- Service history, every 4.5k miles or 6 months by a good independent (generally better than Mitsubishi/Ralliart)
- Ensure it actually is an FQ-330 and not a lower model (FQ-300 or VIII 260 that has been rebadged)
- Check that the car still has all of the parts that were on the car at the last remap
- Check the AFR was monitored during the last remap
- Check the ACD lights on the dash (Snow, Tarmac, Gravel) to ensure all three come on when the engine is started and only one remains on and you can cycle them with the button thereafter.
- Ensure the car has had an uprated fuel pump fitted (you can usually hear them whine if you put your head down by the rear nearside wheel when the engine is running).
