Toyota Starlet/Glanza
Discussion
I'm looking to sell my MX-5 and get a small-engined runabout to use as a daily driver, while keeping my Celica GT-Four for a fun weekend/track toy.
The Starlet or Glanza appeals - is there anything I should know about them? Presumably they're just as reliable as most Toyotas of the era?

Very reliable cars if you don't tinker with them OTT. If you start running too high of boost or power through standard internals, you are begging to be kicked in the balls.
If you kept it relatively standard it will return a fair fuel consumption and relative comfort.
Glanza's are 1.3 turbos using the 4efte and have around 130bhp standard. The UK spec N/A is a 1.3 4efe with about 80bhp standard. Both share interior/exterior parts although the Glanza is a bit more butch with the front and rear ends. Get over to ukstarletclub.com and they can show you all you need to know!

I had a GT Turbo a few years ago and wish I still had it. I will Definitely get another one or a Glanza when some money appears from somewhere. It was a Fantastic little car and I would definitely recommend one. As said above on low boost its very economical for a car of that speed. You get about 110-115BHP on low boost which is fine for town then just flick it on high to about 135BHP when the roads open up. I had mine for 2 years and it never let me down once.
