Hi all,
Time for a change, so the 740 has to go.
New car will be kept for circa 6 years.
Requirements:
BMW........20k miles per year......run on a fuel card.... budget circa 18k.
Short list is a little diverse.
Z4 coupe or 650 Sport.
Questions;
What is extended leather on a Z4?
Does logic7 make a difference on a 650?
Must have options on each?
Any things to be aware of on each (good or Bad)?.
All feedback really appreciated.
Need to get it right, as 6 years with a lemon would be painful.

Obviously very different cars!
I went from a z3 mcoupe to a 650i sport. They are very different. I'd imagine the the 6 will be sort of similar to your 7 but the z4 will be a whole new thing.
The 6 is pretty quick, at least as quick as my mcoupe was. The major difference is slowing it down again. The 6 is fairly hefty!
On the 6 I think having the dynamic drive option is great, and the variable steering thingy is fantastic - you don't realise how realise how good it is till you have used it and then try a car without it. Head up display is also good. I don't have the logic 7 but the standard seems ok to my (uneducated) ears.

Zmass, very useful info, Thank you.
Redeem, Yes, it was a a 2006, Black with cream interior, 1 owner and FBMWSH. It did not have Logis 7 or panaromic roof, but did have HUD. It was 60k miles and up for 16k. Interestingly, it was registered 3 weeks before the latest road rent fees applied, so it was £260 as opposed to £460 (Only 200 PA, but over 6 years it tots up).
Do not know how genuine it was because dealer never returned calls.
The search goes on!

Went for a 650 Sport in the end. Only took me 2 months to make up my mind and find the right one. Absolutely love the steering. There are a couple of things that I thought wold be pointless like HUD & the radar guided cruise control. I stand corrected, they are wonderful (especially the cruise). I also find the lumbar support superb. It uses about 15% less fuel than the 740.
The negatives are that it is big, very big. It is the same size as my E38 740i, but the rear head and leg room are limited. The run flats will be replaced with normal tyres and a can of moose stuff in due course. I would like a temperature gauge.
Cheers.
