E46 Computer-how do I change l/100km to MPG

Just wondering if anyone knew how to change the setting on the dash computer on an E46 (1999) from l/100km to MPG.Ive tried pressing the usual supects(both buttons in the dash and also holding the indicator column button),but no joy.

Cant find anything in the owners manual about it.

try pushing the button on your left indicator stick.hold it in for about 5 seconds.

Have you tried getting the fuel display up on the dash and then holding down the left dash button for a few seconds? Failing that try the same with the right one.

Instructions to access the hidden OBC functions:

1.Hold Trip Reset while turning ignition key to on position
2.OBC should show "Test"
3.Use Trip Reset to select function 19.0 that unlocks all the features
4.Wait for display to show "Off"
5.Depress Trip Reset for 1/4 second and release it
6.With no delay press Trip Reset several times to select one of the following function s

It is a car/key memory option and so needs changing by a BMW dealer, an indie with the right gear or DIY with the right software / laptop cable
