So i take the e46 to bmw to see if they can sort out the rust under the so called 12 year anti corrosion warranty to find they are not interested (regardless of the history of car etc) as its a 6 year cover on cars pre 04. 04 cars are 12 years, wtf....
anyway given that these cars are shockingly painted out of the factory, im wondering what sort of warranty is on offer with the lies of honda, nissan and audi (possible next car).

just wondered what sort of costs im looking at to get this type of issue sorted? approx 1" bubbling on the boot lid and same on the right rear arch....

thanks bmw

Im in the process of having the outside of the front nearside wing sorted and inside of both rear wings sorted prior to putting the mrs E46 up for sale. Its one of the main reasons for getting shot. The FIL had a 51 place coupe and that had so much rot on it was untrue. E46's seem to be just poor for it. My 54 plate 1 series however appears to have perfect paintwork so hopefully things are improving.

Wife had a 2001 CLK with 2 previous owners and although a full service history wasn't all main dealer.
They had it back last year for rust developing around the boot lock - was professionally done under warranty no questions asked - i think their limit was 10 years though
