Thinking of changing the tyres on my 330d M-Sport Touring from Runflats, anybody got any reccomendations?
Also just about to have it tuned so will let you all know the b4 & after figures as he's going to put it on the rollers!

Happy days!

I changed my 335d Runflats to Falken FK452s, and the difference was immense. Best bit about it was 4 normal tyres cost less than two runflats For the rear

I changed mine to Falkens too, hated them, took them off after 3000 miles and bought some PS2s, amazing!

What did you find wrong with them gizlaroc? Put a set of 452's on 2 weeks ago, however, kicked up a size front/rear 235/35 and 265/30 and played about with pressures (now settled on 38 front 40 rear) and am over the moon with them.

Standard grip test (dry) for me is the M11 slip onto M25 and i get another 20mph from these compared to Bridgestone RFT before front wants to wash out. The bonus of the rear not getting deflected on a ripple in the surface mid bend is also a welcome bonus.

They took a lot of 'scrubbing in' though.

Let me know how the 452s go please.

I'm in the same boat as you as soon as I wear out the RFTs on my E91.

They were actually my 5th set, and always thought they were great value, however, I went from early run flats and Bridgestone runflats, or when going from 17s up to 19's etc. on the previous sets, and they always felt better, or certainly felt how you would expect going from a 17 to a 19" wheel.

This time though I went from Pilot Sport's to the FK452 on the same car and wheels and straight away they were obviously a big downgrade.
They were so much harder, and the grip when they got cold was pretty awful, but worse than that was the noise, in early October when I fitted them they were tollerable, but by Novemeber when we had a few 5°c days they got so noisy, annoyingly so and extremely crashy, my wife even commented that she thought I had put run flats back on.

So I ditched them and bought another set of Pilot Sports.

It was the first time I had done a straight swap, Michelin for Falken, every other time it had been runflat to Falken or 17" Michelin to 19" Falken, and I just blamed the hard ride down to there being a lot less sidewall.

Makes sense, ta. Agree slightly noisy, i usually knock a set of rears out every 2 months, and fronts 4. will keep an eye out for bargain sports.

I started buying used on ebay, always with 6-7mm on them and around £140 a pair.

Consider the new conti sport 3 as well, excellent tyre, even quieter and more comfy. I hated the contoi sport 2s as well.
