To say my piss is boiling is an understatement........ some lovely person today decided to 'key' the nearside rear door on my 58 plate 520d M sport, only picked it up last saturday.
Phoned my insurance and it's £300 excess....... they've done a nice job on it, it's really deep and about 14" long
I'm speechless

Thanks.... I feel gutted
The only consolation is that my step son has just told me a good friend of his is a panel beater/sprayer so he's going to look at it tomorrow morning. He thinks he can probably do it for no more than £100, and that's without seeing it.......it just really galls me that someone can do this, unbelievable the mentality of some stupid people.

Seriously some retarded scumbags about.
During the winter my missus had her 120d Msport keyed from the passenger door to the rear quarter. BMW approved body shop wanted £850 for the work.
The carpark kindly paid for the repairs. They messed up on security that day and some drunken chavs had got in and as the wife is a daily business customer they offered to pay.
But the repair didn't go too well. After a couple of months the sunny weather returned and you could see the scratch clearly under the clearcoat in the sunlight.
Bodyshop had another two goes at it and sorted it perfect.
Hope you get it sorted.

An alternative and possibly better/cheaper (only £100 for a door ? E39's are only £50-60) option would be to get a door off an accident damaged car being broken for spares. One advantage of this would be that the door would be as it left the factory and not repaired (rust coming though later ?), downside would be a chance that even though the same colour, it could still be a shade out (same chance as getting it resprayed), anybody know how consistent in colour factory paint is car to car?

I feel your pain.
Some t
t decided to key the left side of my car leaving a 1 meter gouge on both the drivers and passenger door. It's currently at BMW being repainted along the whole left side of the car!
He also decided to whack my wing mirror forward breaking the painted casing, however the chaps at BMW were rather nice and simply went into the parts room and gave me another without charging me.
Nevertheless, the paint will cost me and the damage to my bank account was €250 plus a likely increase in my premiums next year.
People like this are just mindless tossers.
