Hi, I have an E39 M5 and I cannot figure out how to adjust the height of the front head restraints (see, warned you it was dull!). The ones at the rear are a doddle, but the ones at the front have stumped me...

I'd be stunned if it isn't doable as the driver's seat and the passenger seat restraints are already at different heights, but the manual only describes altering the angle on the ones at the front.

If you've remained awake through that, congratulations, and any advice would be gratefully received (even if it just to confirm that it can't be done)!

my nipper has one of those and his are electric, I think it combined with the recline switch, try pull up and down on that instead of fwd and back for recline function.

You're spot on! I can put the lump-hammer away now (always my Plan B)...

Thanks for that!

Good luck that you didn't break anything!

To prevent future mishaps, have a look at the owners manual...
