Just bought a 520 D SE Touring 2008 and wondered if you can get bluetooth for this? I have read several forums but unsure as to how and where to check if I have the wiring loom in place for a module, assuming I don't have one. I have all the tele buttons on the steering wheel but no obvious connections in the arm rest to suggest a non blue tooth phone connect either.
Any ideas?

I've just bought a 58 plate 520d and mine has Bluetooth. Not sure if it's an option or not tbh. Put your phone in Bluetooth mode and see on the telephone section on the idrive if you can search for phone. HTH

Carl, thanks. I have tried this and confirm that there is no Bluetooth.

On a car with Business nav or standard radio and voice you have most of the wiring there, you still have to buy a mic, antenna and a harness, total of around £250.
You may as well buy the USB retrofit though as this is the same price and gives you usb/ipod and the missing bits you need to retrofit the bluetooth bar mic and antenna.

If your car doesn't voice then you need to buy all the optical cables seperately and the bluetooth box, will cost you hundreds used and around £1200 new.

For either option you then need to get the car coded, find somewhere who use the Autologic system is the easiest route.
