I dont know if this is all dealerships or just park lane which is owned by BMW themselves.

I didnt grill the sales guy in detail, but when buying I think any used car there is up to £1000 of freebies with it, and I didnt go into details but it is some mix of up to two items like the protect and seal package (worth about £500), an insurance contribution to BMW insurance, GAP risk insurance, tyre insurance, up to £1000 in finance/ deposit contribtion. Im not sure on the exact details but those are basically them. You can ask the dealer for the details. I believe this is for June only.

I took the protect and seal and negotiated a price discount.

This is for new cars:

It is at all dealerships - but I hear that the Cooper Group dealers have also
promised to get anyone buying a car tickets for the 100 metre sprint at the Olympics....

...and it all comes out of the discount that you would have got anyway.
Surely no one on here believes that these offers are extra special.
No manafacturer supports used cars with extra bonuses (apart from the slow
selling 5GT). Even if BMW do own Park Lane...

£1000 of 'value' - not £1000 of cost to the dealer.

The 'Protect & Seal' package is available for about £30 on ebay, and it doesn't perform anywhere near as well as they claim. Tyre insurance for £7/month. £100 premium for gap/shortfall insurance (although most insurance policies will replace a car less than 1 year old with a brand new one anyway, as they get them cheaper than paying you its 'value').

The salesman will probably make more commission on those extras than he will on the sale of the car.
