E36 325Tds Brakes
Discussion
Greetings,
Just after a quick bit of advice. New to the world of the E36, and my 325Tds touring need new disks and pads. My head is telling me just to plump for the Brembo standard fit jobbies from GSF, but was wondering if the E36 works/prefers/stops better on a different make of disk and pad. Don't want to break the budget, its just my commuter with a bit of spirited B-road action.
Any thoughts or advice greatly welcomed

I just had 4 new discs, 4 new calipers, 4 sets pads, and handbrake shoes fitted to my E36 328i coupe.
I looked at a few options, but the bmw specialist where I have all my work done, advised me to go for the brambo ventilated discs, oem calipers, oem pads & shoes.
Drilled discs can crack from hole to hole, grooved discs are usually slightly better performance but wear pads out more creating more dust too. Also, red stuff/green stuff pads (red for tracks, green for fast road) are an improvement over standard, but the trade of is a lot more brake dust, they squeal a bit, and they need warming up before you get the extra braking.
The choice I made has been great, after a couple of weeks bedding in, they are fantastic brakes, no squeal no dust no warming up and stopping power is plenty.
