Hi Guys,
I would be grateful for your advice. I have a BMW 1 Series 1.6i 2005 and have done 72000 miles. It has been fine and had a service plan for 5 years with BMW, hence always been serviced. The 5 year service plan is now over and last week I took it for service, oil and filter and inspection and now a week later several lights are on the dashboard. Took it to the dealer and was told (!) that the DSC sensor failed, the steering column needs significant work. Also the dashboard indicates that the bonnet is open, the motor from the washer failed and the alarm has a mind of its own. I would be very keen to hear your experiences with this car.
Many thanks

Take it somewhere else for a second opinion, if you think they're trying it on.

By the way, the 116i has a detuned 2 litre engine not a 1.6.

Never ceases to amaze me what a main dealer can find wrong when you have to pay that they couldn't find wrong previously when they would have had to pay.
