I've had a few BMs in the past (E46 M3s etc), but I now need need a tourer (dog to transport), and HAVE to have 4x4 (or I'll stay at home for 3 months of the year). Dont want to do X3/5 etc (too tall for the single track roads here). Can I get 3 or 5 tourers with the 'x' drive (preferably M) and if so, will they get me up a 1:3 hill in -10C +snow/ice. (My Audi Quattro does, just, but I'm bored of waiting for the new RS4 Avant)

Sorry for the stupid q, but I've just wasted an hour on the BMW website which tells me NOTHIN! How bad is that site - just pretty pictures and Java script!

TIA

The E91 and E61 are both available as X drive - in LHD form... Believe they were never imported to the UK as RHD.

Would an X6 fit the bill? Rides a bit lower than an X3/X5.
