Dead cat, what else do I need to replace?
Discussion
The Catalytic converter on my Z3 is dead, it's making a nasty rattling sound as the internals have basically disintegrated. I've ordered a new Cat and centre section, but should I also replace the lambda sensor or anything else while I'm doing this work? Would the lambda sensor or even ECM have been damaged as a result of the Cat going?
Car only has 30k (1997 1.9) but had not been driven for 1 year and not serviced for longer before I took it.

Can't help with the question but when the cat failed on my old E36 with rattly noises I was advised not to drive it at all, as the ceramic bits of the cat that you can hear rattling will cause expensive mayhem if it finds its way into the engine; I had it recovered straight to the garage.
Could be bowlocks, for all I know - is it good advice, BMWverts?
