Hi,

I have my 528's (98 - R reg) ABS codes read the other day because i have the dreaded ABS and TC lights on.
I have no other issues , speedo, Cruise control etc all work fine.

The 3 codes that were shown were for both front wheel sensors and code 39 ADS Pilot motor (i think!).

I have always heard that when wheel sensors die something else stops working as well to help you diagnose which one has gone, but I have no such issues.

I have a feeling that the control unit has a problem, so I dont want to go and spend £200 quid on sensors from BMW if its my unit thats causing the issue. ( i have heard DONT use aftermarket ones)

Im going to send away my unit to BBA-reman to get it checked over, before I waste money on sensors.

Is there a high chance that both front wheel sensors and the control unit are all at fault, or can a faulty control unit cause these errors by its self?

Thanks

cant help with the pilot motor, but I had loads of faults rading. I had a specialist replace the faulty senbsor, and it was just as bad. I then bought one from BMW thelselves, and its been fine ever since. I havent even needed to re-set the fault codes

If it were me, I would buy a sensor. I would suggets its more likely to be that then the control unit. Buy one, and replace with one side of the car. See if the problem goes away or not

Same with me (DSC, ABS and brake light on)

Had my ABS module repaired for £158 incl postage and eveything fine ever since. That was 500 miles ago.
