Hi all, just looking for any suggestions/known problems with BMWs that might have enabled someone to take a friends BMW off their drive.

I'm not sure of the exact model or age of the 5 series but it has the heads up display etc so fairly new.

Anyway it was taken off his drive without him hearing anything, car was locked and alarmed. He still has both his keys plus the plastic emergency key. Glass left on the drive possibly from the drivers window.

I can only think that it was trailered off the drive but my friends pretty sure you couldn't very easily get a trailer near the drive as his road has cars parked along either side making it difficult to maneuver. Surely it hasn't been hotwired?

Anyone have any ideas?

A friend had his E60 M5 stolen from an airport. It was surmised this involved an ECU/EWS swap. I have my doubts. It would not surprise me at all if certain elements of society can get them moving with the right programme on a laptop.
