Hey Chaps

I have a '04 plate 325i SE Touring with just over 80k miles on the clock. I've had it since 50k and am the third owner.

Frequently I have an issue where the clutch judders significantly when pulling away in 1st and sometimes when moving from 1st to 2nd. If I continue with a normal clutch release while the juddering is happening, rather than riding it a bit, the car will stall entirely.

The problem is particularly noticeable when the car is cold - in fact it doesn't really happen at all once warm.

Any ideas what this might be - sound like a clutch on the way out? The problem has been present for about 6 months.

Cheers

Sounds like it could be associated with the (Dual Mass) flywheel. Would expect a clutch with 80k on it to slip maybe but not 'judder' unless its friction surface is getting contaminated, but only doing it when cold negates that theory somewhat.

Okay, thanks. Any other things to watch out for which might point to a flywheel issue. I'd like to be sure there is actually something wrong before I go paying the BMW diagnostic fee!
