Greetings

I don't normally post in this section but I need your advice.

My wife drives a E46 318es and the dash warning light indicating low brake pads has come on and I was hoping you guys here would be able to give me an idea on costs (labour time + parts)

The car has done 48k and it's never had discs or pads so am I correct in assuming it will need both.

Also, can anyone recommended suppliers and fitters in the Windsor/Berkshire area?

Thanks in advance.

Usually discs are needed evey second set of pads, but need to be measured to be sure. It is usually a hour per axle as far as labour time goes.

Can't help with recommendation in that area.

I did mine about 6 months ago, and got some Pagid discs and pads through GSF. I think all in for front and back cost me about £90 and fitted them with the help of another kind PHer.

If you do plan on doing them yourself (which being talked through by said PHer and having not changed them on the E46 before), its actually very simple, although make sure you remember to buy a new sensor cable for both front and back, as I forgot and had to do an extra trip!

Or, buy the parts you need yourself and get a trustworthy mechanic to fit them if they are willing.
