Hi chaps.

I'm still considering buying my own car to substitute a company car.

I have been offered a Monaco Blue 320d M sport Auto Coupe.

The car has done 120k, what kind of price is right for it?

Been told it may have a dodgy injector as its tapping at idle?

Finally, is this the 150 bhp engine? Does anyone do remaps for it, and what gains can be had?

Thanks BimmerFolk!

I think these are largely pointless cars despite the fact they are great when they work. You buy the little diesel to save money, but you don't really save money running an older BMW especially a diesel, you just end up spending it fixing niggly bits or, in the case of the 320d, putting the engine back together after the swirl flaps fail and write it off, or replacing turbochargers, or whatever. As you can see this one you are looking at is already showing signs of being broken.

So just realise that an old BMW isn't an economy car, and buy a 330i instead and enjoy it.

If you do wish to save pennies, buy a Golf diesel.

Or find one that's already had a replacement turbo and remove the swirl flaps. wink

I was luckier in that regard though, I can't imagine they're too common.

This. Swirl flaps replaced and if you are lucky enough to find it's had a replacement turbo that will cut out a huge potential bill. Great cars.
