All,
My 55 plate E61 through a big fit on monday. Starting throwing up a million and 1 error messages, speedo and rev counter flicking down to zero and back up whilst driving, idrive screen going blank etc etc.

The main error message seemed to be 'Central Electronics Failure'.

A little research seems to suggest that water could have leaked into the boot area, probably due to blocked drainage holes from the panoramic sunroof and fried some electronics.

Does anyone have experience/knowledge of which units might be fried? or other possible causes....

thanks!

Your diagnosis into the cause is probably correct. Sorry to hear youre having problems.

Here is some info, albeit the prevention method is a little too late.

Lift up the spare wheel cover and take a look in there. Fried modules are fairly easy to spot.

cheers guys!
Fingers crossed the garage can diagnose the faulty unit(s). If not I think I'll get the car back and try myself!!

garage says all fixed. Water had been leaking in, so they fixed that (took stupid valve off the end of the drains from pan. sun roof) and dried it all out and all working ok now apparently! Fingers crossed it stays working!
