Current lead times for new BMW 5 series?

Hi All

This has probably been covered a million times already but as the search engine is down I thought I would ask.

I've just ordered a 520d SE and have been told 4 months till delivery, is this the norm?

Think you will find most Audis, BMWs and Mercs are on at least 4 months lead time especially popular models such as 520D. Also not helped by summer holiday factory shutdown and new 2012 models available from September.

Been informed today Late October, 10 weeks.
Not bad................seeing is believing tho!!

Had to wait 8 months for my last one (Alfa 159) so anything less is an improvement.

Ordered my 520 d in April last year ,was told delivery end of June.

Rang at the end of June to chase it up , and was told late July.

It eventually arrived early August , I then told them to register it in September for the 60 plate.

Salesman got his knickers in a twist , but went remarkably quiet when I pointed out the demo model was a remarkably similar spec to my original order.
