looking to get some winter tyre and wheels for my E61 535d
Discussion
I bought some S/H refurbed 17" alloys for my 335 last year from here ~ link below takes you to E60 rims.

They're fitted with Dunlop Winter Sport 3D which came from here http://www.camskill.co.uk/m97b0s0p0/Winter_-_Snow_...
Total cost for wheels & tyres was £1050 ~ Superb service from both suppliers
then an additional £50 fitting & balancing locally.
I Never had any traction concerns in the snow after the above combo was fitted; grip & wear were surprisingly good in the dry too. Ride comfort was like a magic carpet relative to the useless, jurassic Bridgestone run flats that were on previously

Probably talking out my arse but i didn't think you could get 17s to clear the brake calipers?
I'm sure I read that somewhere.
I'd be interested to hear about this too as my 535 was useless winter just gone. Mind you. It was only stranded for 4 days and to be fair I didn't need it anyway

It's quite surprising that they call for winter tyres that wide!. Whilst I appreciate that the width should be fine on roads that are merely cold and possibly icy, I would have thought a 225 tyre would be better for roads that may be covered in snow.http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=PX92...
