My E65 has auto hold (or auto P as it's called on mine) and it can be a bit snatchy. My wife just turns it off as she doesn't like it. You do, however, get used to it and these days I've adapted my braking style to stop it happening 99% of the time. If you're in traffic that is literally trickling then you might be best just to knock it off. I did drive an F01 7 Series and thought that the auto P was smoother than mine. Perhaps in the 5 it isn't!

Not really noticed the issue on mine, either the suspension or autohold. Have you got the sports gearbox option?

Not sure why it would make a difference but I don't have the sport option and not suffered the issue you talk of. Could be a complete red herring.

Did BMW come up with any reason?

Not sure where you are in London/Surrey but I'm in Sunbury on Thames in the daytime and happy to see what mine is like if you wish?

I don't bother with the auto hold because of the issues you describe.

Yes my car clonks like the dampers and springs have broken, over certain high frequency bumps and holes, makes you wonder if they had actually driven the car before they signed it off.
