If its an 04/54 then it books in Glass Guide with 66k at £11550.
If its an 05/54 then its worth £900 more.
if it doesnt have a comms pack (sat nav and bluetooth) then its worth £2k less.
They are all trade prices so a dealer will have about £3000 across these prices. Bear in mind no car is making book price at the minute especially a 4.8is and these are book dropping £750 a month.
Condition obviously plays a part as does full history.

Hi,
And in the current climate, car 'real' values are probably nowhere near these 'book' prices. I guess only specific niche market dealers who have a history of supplying local purchasers with similar vehicles would offer anywhere close to the book prices. On the wider market, very very few and less than before people are in the market for a large engine vehicle and less so in a much heavier fuel consumption SUV sized vehicle!
Good luck with getting as best money you can for it though!
Cheers, Dennis!

To give you an idea when I bought a new 5 series two months ago, the BMW dealer offered me 7k for my 04 530i as p/x. My 530i has only 40k miles and is fully loaded and in superb condition. I would have thought that yours would be around 12k if you sell it privately and 8/9k if you sell it as part exchange.
Use whatcar's online free valuation to get an idea of worth. As their prices are an average of actual prices paid rather than forecourt displayed ones, among other sources, then you'd presume the cars sold were a mixture of fairly basic spec through to very well optioned.
So, I personally don't think there's much padding to be done with your spec.
As others have said, book value is a bit meaningless with the current cost of fuel & state of the economy/country.
Auto Trader app shows 04 54 4.8s from £9995 with 79K to £10690 with 65K at independant dealers.
