Don't believe everything you're told

had quite a bad oil leak on my e46 318ci so decided to take it to local garage to see what the problem was. Upon getting up on ramp he said its from the head gasket and threads would have melted maybe?! so I wqas looking at at least £600 labour and much more if it needs a new engine!!!

Luckily I decided to get a second opinion off a bmw indie and he pretty much diagnosed it over the phone as cam cover seal, very common on these engines. Was all fixed and done for £150.
