E36 rusty arches - decent bodyshops?
Discussion
Hello all.
The O/S rear arch on my E36 is very rusty, running my hand under and round it I can feel a big chunk missing in the middle, so it is gone.
The N/S rear arch is also rusty in places, with some paint bubbling, but it doesn't look major and I am hoping this is recoverable.
1. Should I buy a new O/S arch, and get it welded + painted on the cheap? My friend knows a good bodywork guy, but he is unreliable at the best of times. I imagine he wants £90-£120 for it.
2. How much do bodyshops normally charge for this (welding new arch + painting etc)? I've heard around the 200 mark, not sure how accurate this is. I know it can vary in different areas of the country.
3. If anyone could name decent bodyshops around the Midlands/South Wales
I'd be very grateful. There was one in Total BMW a while back in Nottingham, that I forgot the name of. D'oh.
Thanks it advance for any replies.
