Hi Guys,

The car is due for a service and I am supplying my local dealer with the parts.
What do I need - Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Fuel Filter, Brake fluid (I would like to do this), coolant, engine flush? Radiator Flush? I am just thinking about what I have used in the past as haven't serviced the bm yet.

Where is the best place you guys know of to buy these bits?
My local motor factor is always good but just wanted to see your opinions.

Thanks

It depends entirely on what service the car is required.

Coolant and Brake Fluid are outside the normal servicing requirements and not part of the Oil/Inspection 1/Inspection 2 regieme.

You might also need a cabin filter but as above...depends what service you're due or if it hasn't been following the BMW services, when things were last changed.

Spark plugs, but again depends what level of service you are having carried out. Are you using a main dealer?

Opie Oils will probably be able to sort the lot out, delivered, for a decent price.

Just look in the 'service pack' section.

And often get forgotten.

I would bet that if the OP just got the car, that the coolant and brake fluid are overdue. Brake fluid should be done every 2 years. Coolant every 3 years IIRC.

thanks for replies guys.
Yes forgot the 'pollen filter'. It has full BMW service history up until the last service which was well 12000 miles ago.
I am using a local indy but it is a friend doing it for me who is superb with BMW's.

I would rather do everything including coolant etc as I am not sure what the last garage would have done apart from the normal oil service.

What oil would you recommend? Castrol edge?

Thanks again
