Hi there, I'm very interested in buying a BMW 330d Coupe. I have seen one for just under £13000 but it has 95k on the clock.
It is fully loaded with just about all of the options on the list and looks to be in excellent condition.

I was just wondering if there is anything I should know or check on a 330d of this age and milage? I know BMW's are good for 200k easily but should I do anything specific if I bought the car? Cam chain, corrosion locations etc.

I can't see anything wrong with the car but I know I am probably blinding myself as to me it seems the perfect fast (ish) road car.

Thanks in advance.

Alex,

If I was looking at £13k, I might squeeze a bit harder and try for this 2007 330d Coupe with only 17k on it at <£16k.

An older car with that sort of may mileage may through up bills which could close the difference in price between the two. Added to the fact that the '07 will be a much easier re-sale....

Hope this helps.

Thanks Dominic, that one does look stunning and I would be interested but I'm looking for Sat Nav as well. The milage is excellent though.

This is the one I'm interested in.

Buy a Tom Tom? Use your phone?

I bought a 5 yr old 330d 86,000 miles, £11k - well worth it. E46 though.

I think u could do better than that spec u have quoted at that budget.

My 2004 330cd has 104k on the clock and is running beautifully. Had a run out at VMax at the weekend and it managed a very respectable 153mph through the timing lights. The "Italian tuneup" has worked well and it's felt even better than usual since Saturday.

Edited to add bills! Not much really. Needed front lower ball joints to get through MOT recently, so replaced wishbones and fluid bushes. De-swirl flapped it when I bought it 13 months ago, so no worry there. Overall it's cost me just over £500 this last year in bills. Now I've spent more getting the alloys refurbed, fitting a full M3 interior, steering wheel etc, but that's personal choice, so not counted in running costs.

Yep, they usually loosen up and produce more power just before the engine lets go.

We have had a 330d 06 plate from new & it has been faultless a great car & its done 117k miles now & still going strong(touch wood).

Ours is rust free & really clean underneath, biggest expense has been tyres & brakes other than that just routine servicing & we have just been extending the bmw warranty just in case.

It gets a big thumbs up from me.

Engine will probably be fine. Check that the crank case breather has been serviced, else this can lead to turbo failure. Only concern for me would be the autobox, as they can go around this age from reports I've read.
