What is this widget in my e39 and do i have a problem?

gents im a little lost and need your help; the pictured widget appears to be weeping oil and i dont know what it is or how to fix it and potential costs...any help appreciated!

i dont know if related but the rocker cover gasket was replaced about 20k ago and the car has done about 75k miles...

That's the Air-con compressor & Manifold, doesn't look like refrigerant though, more like engine oil leaking on to it from above....

Is the air-con working OK?

ok so the air con works fine... im wondering whether its oil from a failed rocker cover gasket again dripping onto the unit?
